I am not familiar with the mods but my guess would be that we updated one of the files that provides this extra info. The new file is in a dev subfolder in the artwork folder. The beta looks in the dev folder FIRST and it if finds the file it reads it. Since the beta files do not have the CortUI or Slipstream GUI changes you won't see their changes. Once we go 'gold' those mods will have to be merged with the R4 changes. You likely just cannot copy in the file from either of the mods as some of the modifications we made for R4 are required for the client to run properly.Star_Scream wrote:QUOTE (Star_Scream @ Sep 12 2007, 09:01 PM) Ok i have one problem with the beta.I have CortUI and Slipstream GUI installed and when i play R3 on the F3 map i can see
all the stats conserning my ship (speed, sig, ammo etc.) but in R4 there is nothing (no stats for my ship, there is everything else F3 map has). How come?

When you click Beta Mode and Log Chat to Disk, ASGS seems to freeze at "validating installation" or some such point. Can anyone verify this?

`2. I haven't had a problem with chat logging in Beta at all.
Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.
Neither have I, but the beta does place the chat in a "logs" subfolder. Could it be that where you installed the beta you do not have permissions to make a subfolder? Intsalled it as admin but run it as a regular user?

Naw, its my machine.
I just screwed up somewhere probably. I'll try again tomorrow and get back to you then.
Edit: All is good. Sorry to bother you /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

2 problems
1) Hi-res explosions are causing serious framerate issues on R4, but no problem on R3
2) Between end of game and "you were victorious/defeated," it hangs 10-15 seconds. It appears to be jockeying between multiple resolutions.

Only one major item I noticed and I will see if it reproduces again. Last night I lost all steering control twice in game. I quickly toggled to the mouse and no control. Toggled back to the stick, no control. I hit f3 to switch views and back. After the 2nd or 3rd time of toggling the mouse I gained joystick control back.

Well that hider is not a "true hider".
A few folks outside my squad know it. I consider it more of my "%$@!!#@$ just let me play and quit sending me PM's folks!"
Sorry for the slight hijack, but only TE understands what happens sometimes when I sign in as "BlackViper". I honestly play about 80% of the time in a hider now. Not that I am being an ass, but after spending hours on websites, enforcement, cadet, etc. all I just want to do is play.
So most people who do know it or suspect so far have been honorable and just let me play and not bother me with admin stuff in game. /wub.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":iluv:" border="0" alt="wub.gif" />

I have had a running problem which I had not thought to mention for ages. And it has been consisten in Alleg since I can remember.
Sometimes I cant set autopilot at all when clicking or pressing P after tergetting something. To make it work I have to hit enter twice and then it works.
Any idea why that happens? It's really minor...
