Perhaps it's because I never played a fun multi-team game.

Without considering the question of how likely a fair, fun multi-team is to occur..... ugh, why would I say no to a fun game ever? So if we assume both are fun then ... meh, no preference, check both.

It wouldnt be bad if there was fixed allies. It also wouldnt be bad if people actually enjoyed doing that "HAha, lets team up on that schmoob" thing.
