pkk, retry your testing with the reverted sound engine build on freeallegiance.sf.net/pub....

I'm not so sure it's the engine in Allegiance that's the problem. after expanding the OGG's, Windows Media Player and 15 other players can't play ...

QUOTE (fuzzylunkin1 @ Feb 21 2010, 10:57 AM) Now that I think about this more, It sounds like it may be a problem with DirectX and the Allegiance Sound Engine. I would say try to reinstall DirectX 9. If that doesn't work, we've got an Allegiance build with the Microsoft Original Sound Engine I can ...

Well here's a strange one and I doubt the helpline can help on this one ...

When I first installed Allegiance this go 'round, and nice job getting this baby to actually WORK on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 I must say, I couldn't hear the sounds from any of the OGG files.

Uninstalled, then reinstalled ...

QUOTE (Youngmoose @ Feb 26 2010, 03:23 PM) I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the TE to whom MrChaos refers is not an ISP speed, but our illustirious and fuzzy admin, (and your squadmate) of whom I perform a myriad of services for. Including his introductions.

Good to see you active again BTW ...

QUOTE (MrChaos @ Feb 26 2010, 10:01 AM) you can't host from home

a) The requirement is TE's ( 1000% agree btw)
b) you dont have enough capacity BOTH directions
c) your service provider will send someone out to kick your ass if you actually used your bandwidth limits

I've recently upgraded my home internet connection and I'm thinking about hosting a 4th Allegiance Server. Before I do that though I'd like an estimate on badwidth use from those who currently run them please. I'd like to do this without impacting the 15 sites I'm presently hosting.

QUOTE (ImmortalZ @ Nov 25 2009, 09:25 PM) ESET Smart Security does what every other firewall integrated antivirus software does on Vista/7. It blocks SSDP broadcasts, blocking Alleg. The rule is built into the low level driver it and every other firewall integrated software installs. I'll go as far ...

QUOTE (fuzzylunkin1 @ Jan 10 2010, 09:55 PM) I would try reinstalling your sound drivers. If you still have the original CD, that came with the motherboard or computer, give that a shot.

If it's a pre-built computer it might be kind of obscure to find exactly what you need. I would then recommend ...
