Yah if you have more than 1 processor/core then it will be different. It would be nice if alleg were more CPU friendly while being in the server/game lobbies.

Ahhh, thanks! I can interact with other apps when allegiance is in windowed mode too, but it takes up whatever CPU is leftover from the other things I'm running. I guess I never noticed this prior to R4 since windowed mode never worked for me, and when allegiance is minimized it doesn't use any CPU ...

Upon starting allegiance (after clicking 'Login' in ASGS) the Allegiance.exe will take up 100% of the CPU, even at the splash screen (before you click on the 'Free Games' button)? Does this happen to everybody?

Yah, I would say piloting involves much more number crunching than commanding. Commanding is all about controlling your subordinates ... sort of like herding cats.

Installer? You mean AEM's installer for R4? He said he figured this out, unfortunately the instructions were still wrong when I went through this and it looked easy enough to just do by hand (which it was until I got to the part where they were wrong). So I haven't tried AEM's installer.
