Those players are now famous for the anti-cheat and authentication software. In fact, those are the result of one player, SOV_Vencain, who produced the following programs:

SOVRoute

Allowed the community to play when the lobbyserver was down using the LAN function and server IP addresses to connect directly to servers. IP Addresses of game servers were added by their administrators to a website, where they were automatically retrieved by SOVRoute.

ShowCG

A small command-line program, which was able to analyse the crash guard HTML page. It told you, if you were crashed by another player or not.

SOVLog

Was the first attempt to block cheats (CGs - Crash Guards, caused by a modified voice chat file) and allowed the player to record chatlogs and take multiple screenshots.

SOVLogin

This program blocked cheats and served as an authentication system. Player whp were not authed via SOVLogin were unable to connect to the lobby server. Later ASGS improved the security of the authentication system.
