Why do I get error 'Your account could not be activated'?

This problem is typically accompanied by the error message:

• Sorry, your account could not be activated. Click here for more information

It is caused by some email clients and services that modify links in emails. This modification changes the link, rendering it invalid.

To solve this problem, copy and paste the link into the Address bar of your web browser, and press ENTER.

1. Select the entire link with your mouse (Make it blue)
2. Click the Edit menu at the top of the window, then click Copy
3. Open up your web browser (Internet Explorer, FireFox, Opera, other)
4. If it isn't there already, place the cursor in the Address bar of your web browser (Click the white box where you type the www.whatever.com stuff)
5. Click the Edit menu, then click the Paste menu. The link should appear in the Address bar.
6. Press the ENTER key on your keyboard

You should now see the confirmation screen that your ASGS account has been activated.
